"Esperanza Viva" Children's Home

The home welcomed its first residents in March 2017.  The home is designed to house 12 girls who have been orphaned or abandoned, with no one to care for their needs.  Plans are to build additional homes as resources allow.

Student Scholarship Program

Currently, Living Hope sponsors 149 students in more than a dozen different villages through the generous donations of our North American partners -- individuals and groups -- all over the Southeast.

  • An annual sponsorship of $325 provides two required school uniforms, supplies and fees for an entire school year for a secondary student in grades 6-12. The school year begins in early February each year and runs through October.

  • A monthly sponsorship of $165 provides transportation, moving and/or housing funds needed for a university student to travel or move to a major city to pursue a university education. Our current university students are pursuing degrees and/or careers in medicine, business, agriculture, education, nursing, accounting, English, and more.

Each fall we contact current sponsors to renew their commitment to sponsor a child, as well as recruit new sponsors for any new students we might add in January. Each student is selected by a committee from one of our partner churches in Olancho and is interviewed and photographed by our Directors of Education -- Jan Oliver and Amy Peek.  Each sponsor receives a photograph, grade reports, and a personal letter from their student.

For more information on how to sponsor a student, contact Amy Peek at

Plan a Trip

Every year hundreds travel to our located in Gualaco to work and serve in the ministries of Living Hope.  Teams from just a few up to 30 are welcomed each year.  Some build schools, others improve homes, visit schools, help with local church development, and a host of other ministry expressions.

Living Hope will help you plan your trip, arrange transportation, provide translators, and even come to visit with your church or group as you plan your missions adventure.  If this is your first trip, Living Hope will even send an experienced group leader to help you discover the endless possibilities of service for your group.

Go to this Contact Us page to begin the process.  Summer months fill up extremely fast, so do not hesitate!
